Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (or applesauce for a healthier option)
  • 1/4 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 large egg (or 1 mashed banana for a vegan option)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (or coconut oil for a dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk yogurt, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Pour wet mix into dry mix. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Lightly flour a surface. Turn dough out and gently pat to 1/2-inch thick.
  5. Cut donuts with a donut cutter or use two round cutters (one small for the hole).
  6. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3 minutes.
  7. Place donuts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not crowd.
  8. Air fry for 5–7 minutes, flipping halfway if needed, until golden and set.
  9. Remove donuts and brush with melted butter or coat with sugar while warm.

Notes

Serve warm for best taste. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for longer storage.
