Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (halal-compliant)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry with a paper towel.
  2. Rub olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper on both sides.
  3. Place seasoned chicken in the crockpot.
  4. Pour barbecue sauce over the chicken.
  5. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until chicken reaches 165°F and is easy to shred.
  6. Remove chicken and shred with two forks, or serve whole.
  7. Mix shredded chicken with the sauce in the crockpot for more flavor.
