- 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (halal-compliant)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry with a paper towel.
- Rub olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper on both sides.
- Place seasoned chicken in the crockpot.
- Pour barbecue sauce over the chicken.
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until chicken reaches 165°F and is easy to shred.
- Remove chicken and shred with two forks, or serve whole.
- Mix shredded chicken with the sauce in the crockpot for more flavor.
Notes
Serve on buns, over rice, or with steamed vegetables. Use thighs for more fat and flavor.
