Cheesy Christmas Tree Bread

A fun and festive cheesy bread shaped like a Christmas tree, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package refrigerator pizza dough
  • 67 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 large egg + 1 tbsp water for egg wash
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, grated
  • Marinara sauce, pizza sauce, or pesto for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and cut it into 30 equal squares.
  3. Cut mozzarella cheese sticks into 1-inch pieces. Place a piece of cheese in the center of each dough square.
  4. Roll each dough square into a ball, sealing the cheese inside.
  5. Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree, making sure the balls are lightly touching.
  6. Whisk the egg and water together to create an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the dough balls.
  7. Bake the bread for 16-18 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. While the bread bakes, melt the butter and stir in half of the parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, rosemary, and basil.
  9. Once the bread is out of the oven, brush the garlic herb butter over the warm rolls and sprinkle with the remaining parmesan cheese.

Notes

Ensure cheese is completely sealed to avoid leakage. You can also use different types of cheese for variety.
