Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt

- Add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Mix just until combined.
- Fold in the chopped dark chocolate.
- Portion the dough into balls and chill for at least 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the chilled dough balls on the sheet and bake for 10-11 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired. Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. The longer you chill the dough, the chewier the cookies will be. Experiment with different types of chocolate or mix in nuts for added texture.
