Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

Delightful chocolate cookies with a creamy chocolate ganache filling, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate ganache (made with dark chocolate and heavy cream)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Make an indentation in the center of each ball using your thumb.
  8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and immediately fill each indentation with chocolate ganache.
  10. Let cool and enjoy.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can be frozen for up to three months.
