Description
These Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies are rich, easy to make, and feature a delicious chocolate ganache center.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate ganache (for filling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
- Make an indentation in the center of each cookie using your thumb or back of a spoon.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, then remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
- Fill each indentation with chocolate ganache.
- Let cookies cool completely before serving.
Notes
Serve at room temperature with a dusting of powdered sugar or sea salt for an extra touch. These cookies can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days.
