Christmas Sausage Rolls

Festive sausage rolls filled with savory flavors, perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy snacks.

Ingredients

  • 400g pork sausage meat
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • Mixed herbs, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to season
  • Ready-to-roll puff pastry
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Brie, sliced
  • 1 beaten egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C fan and lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, squeeze the sausage meat and add crushed garlic, orange zest, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  3. Lightly flour a surface and unroll the pastry, cutting it in half lengthwise.
  4. Spread cranberry sauce down the middle of each half, leaving space on the sides.
  5. Divide the sausage meat and spread it along the length of the pastry, then layer the Brie on top.
  6. Brush one edge of the pastry with beaten egg and fold the other side over the sausage meat, sealing tightly.
  7. Cut each roll into 4 pieces and poke slits on top for steam release.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg and bake for 25 minutes or until golden.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Serve warm with extra cranberry sauce for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
