  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 1 cup butter (for frosting)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 24 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool completely.
  8. For the cinnamon coating, mix the 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  9. For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla. Add milk as needed to reach desired consistency.
  10. Frost the cooled cupcakes and dip the tops into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  11. Serve warm or at room temperature with a dusting of extra cinnamon sugar on top.

Notes

Use room temperature butter and eggs for a smooth batter. Cool cupcakes fully before frosting to avoid melting.
