Description

A simple, rich pasta dish with seared steak and creamy garlic sauce, served with soft cheese tortellini.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 oz cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
  • Parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook cheese tortellini according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Season the steak on both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked to your liking. Remove from skillet and let rest.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and whole milk, stirring well, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Gradually add parmesan cheese while stirring until melted and combined into the sauce.
  7. Slice the rested steak thinly and add it back into the skillet with the cooked tortellini. Toss to coat everything in the creamy sauce.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper if desired.

Notes

For best texture, do not freeze; consume within 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk to loosen the sauce.
