Description
A simple, rich pasta dish with seared steak and creamy garlic sauce, served with soft cheese tortellini.
Ingredients
Scale
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Cook cheese tortellini according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
- Season the steak on both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked to your liking. Remove from skillet and let rest.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and whole milk, stirring well, and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Gradually add parmesan cheese while stirring until melted and combined into the sauce.
- Slice the rested steak thinly and add it back into the skillet with the cooked tortellini. Toss to coat everything in the creamy sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper if desired.
Notes
For best texture, do not freeze; consume within 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk to loosen the sauce.
