Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage, sliced (andouille or your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned.
  2. Add the bell pepper, onion, and garlic; sauté until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in the shrimp and cook until they turn pink.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and add Cajun seasoning, stirring well.
  5. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
  8. Serve hot over rice, steamed vegetables, or pasta, spooning sauce over the base.

Notes

For a lighter sauce, swap heavy cream for half-and-half. Serve it with extra parsley and lemon wedges for added brightness.
