- 1 pound sausage, sliced (andouille or your choice)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until browned.
- Add the bell pepper, onion, and garlic; sauté until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the shrimp and cook until they turn pink.
- Pour in the heavy cream and add Cajun seasoning, stirring well.
- Let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
- Serve hot over rice, steamed vegetables, or pasta, spooning sauce over the base.
Notes
For a lighter sauce, swap heavy cream for half-and-half. Serve it with extra parsley and lemon wedges for added brightness.
