- 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Peel and chop sweet potatoes into 1-inch cubes for even cooking.
- Boil the chopped sweet potatoes in a large pot of cold water over medium heat until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the sweet potatoes and let them sit for a few minutes to evaporate excess moisture.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the drained sweet potatoes with butter, heavy cream, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed before serving warm.
Notes
For an extra sweet note, serve with a small side of a sweet sauce like sweet onion sauce.
