Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, beat the butter with the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool.
- For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Drizzle over the cooled cake and serve.
Notes
Make sure your butter is at room temperature for easy mixing. Do not over-mix the batter; mix until just combined to keep the cake light and fluffy. For extra spice, add more cinnamon or nutmeg. Sprinkles can be added on top of the glaze for a fun touch.
