Description
A sweet and smooth chocolate bar infused with cardamom and pistachios, inspired by Dubai’s flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 400 g dark or milk chocolate, chopped
- 2 tbsp cocoa butter or coconut oil
- 3 tbsp sweetened condensed milk (or 2 tbsp sugar + 2 tbsp milk)
- 1/2 cup chopped pistachios (or almonds)
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- A few saffron strands soaked in 1 tsp warm milk (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- Optional: edible rose petals or chopped dates
Instructions
- Line a small baking tray with parchment paper.
- Chop the chocolate into small pieces so it melts fast.
- Put chocolate and cocoa butter in a heatproof bowl.
- Melt gently over simmering water (double boiler) or in short 15-second bursts in a microwave. Stir until smooth.
- Stir in condensed milk, vanilla, and the saffron milk if using. Mix well.
- Add cardamom and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine.
- Fold in half the pistachios. Save the rest for the top.
- Pour the mix into the lined tray. Spread smooth with a spatula.
- Sprinkle the remaining pistachios and rose petals or dates on top.
- Chill in the fridge for 1–2 hours until firm.
- Remove from tray and cut into bars or squares.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 2 months.
