Dubai Chocolate Bar

Description

A sweet and smooth chocolate bar infused with cardamom and pistachios, inspired by Dubai’s flavors.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 400 g dark or milk chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tbsp cocoa butter or coconut oil
  • 3 tbsp sweetened condensed milk (or 2 tbsp sugar + 2 tbsp milk)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pistachios (or almonds)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • A few saffron strands soaked in 1 tsp warm milk (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: edible rose petals or chopped dates

Instructions

  1. Line a small baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Chop the chocolate into small pieces so it melts fast.
  3. Put chocolate and cocoa butter in a heatproof bowl.
  4. Melt gently over simmering water (double boiler) or in short 15-second bursts in a microwave. Stir until smooth.
  5. Stir in condensed milk, vanilla, and the saffron milk if using. Mix well.
  6. Add cardamom and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine.
  7. Fold in half the pistachios. Save the rest for the top.
  8. Pour the mix into the lined tray. Spread smooth with a spatula.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining pistachios and rose petals or dates on top.
  10. Chill in the fridge for 1–2 hours until firm.
  11. Remove from tray and cut into bars or squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 2 months.
