Ingredients

  • 2 lbs turnips, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced turnips.
  3. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour half of this mixture over the turnips.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top.
  5. Repeat the layering with the remaining turnips, cream mixture, and cheese.
  6. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and dot with butter.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the top is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Ensure turnips are sliced thinly for even cooking. Experiment with different cheeses for varied flavors.
