- 1 pound chicken breast
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, halved
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 piece ginger, sliced
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Rice noodles
- Fresh herbs (basil, cilantro, etc.)
- Bean sprouts
- Lime wedges
- Chili slices
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger, and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Add the chicken breast to the pot and simmer until cooked through, about 15 minutes.
- Remove the chicken, shred it, and return it to the pot.
- Stir in the fish sauce and soy sauce.
- Cook the rice noodles according to package instructions and divide them into bowls.
- Ladle the hot broth with chicken over the noodles.
- Top with fresh herbs, bean sprouts, lime wedges, and chili slices as desired. Enjoy your homemade chicken pho!
