Old-Fashioned Pancakes

Classic fluffy pancakes, perfect for a delicious breakfast that brings back fond memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients on your counter for an organized cooking experience.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. Make a well in the center of the dry mixture and add milk, egg, and melted butter. Stir gently until just combined; lumps are fine.
  4. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat until hot. Test by sprinkling water droplets—if they dance, it’s ready.
  5. Pour about ¼ cup of batter per pancake into the skillet. Cook until bubbles form and edges appear set (about 2-3 minutes).
  6. Flip pancakes carefully and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Keep warm in a low oven while repeating with remaining batter.

Notes

Serve with maple syrup, fruits, or whipped cream. Leftover pancakes can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
