Gingerbread Crinkle Cookies

Delightfully spiced Gingerbread Crinkle Cookies with a soft center and beautiful powdered sugar dusting, perfect for the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the molasses and egg until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and then roll in powdered sugar.
  7. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set and the tops are crackled.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
