Delicious Grandma’s Thanksgiving Stuffing Recipe

A warm and comforting Thanksgiving stuffing recipe, perfect for family gatherings with flavors reminiscent of special times spent with Grandma.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 cups cubed sourdough or French bread
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 2 cups finely chopped celery (about 34 stalks)
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 4 cups low-sodium broth (chicken or vegetable)
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and celery. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, place the cubed bread. Add the sautéed onion and celery mixture, along with the chopped herbs. Toss everything together gently.
  4. Pour in the low-sodium broth gradually, mixing until the bread is evenly moistened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish. Cover it with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.
