  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • Orange and black frosting
  • Halloween-themed decorations (e.g., sprinkles, candy corn)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients and beat until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.
  7. Decorate with orange and black frosting and add Halloween-themed decorations.

Notes

Use a good quality cocoa powder for a richer chocolate flavor. For best results, add frosting and decorations just before serving.
