Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture until well combined.
  5. If desired, add food coloring to the dough and mix until the color is even.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden.
  8. Let the cookies cool, then decorate with spooky candies to create a Halloween theme.

Notes

For vibrant cookies, use gel food coloring instead of liquid food coloring. Mix and match your decorations to create a variety of spooky designs.
