Hot Buttered Rum

A warm, rich drink that combines butter, sugar, spices, and dark rum for a cozy experience.

  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup hot water
  • Whipped cream (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mug, combine the unsalted butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  2. Pour in the dark rum and hot water, stirring until the butter and sugar are fully dissolved.
  3. Top with whipped cream if desired.
  4. Serve warm by the fire and enjoy!

Notes

Use good dark rum for best flavor. Adjust spices to taste and mash butter and sugar well for quicker melting.
