Description
Delightful Nutella Snowball Cookies combining rich Nutella and crunchy hazelnuts, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 Tbsp. Nutella
- 3/4 cup hazelnuts
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups (145 g) confectioners’ sugar, divided
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (270 g) all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread hazelnuts on a baking sheet and toast until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Allow to cool and finely chop.
- Freeze dollops of Nutella on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 15 minutes.
- Beat butter and 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar until creamy.
- Add salt, vanilla, and hazelnuts, then beat until combined.
- Mix in flour in two batches.
- Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough, create an indentation, place a Nutella dollop, cover with dough, and roll into a ball.
- Bake cookies for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
- Roll cooled cookies in remaining confectioners’ sugar.
- Store in an airtight container.
Notes
Make sure the butter is at room temperature for the best texture. Toasting the hazelnuts enhances their flavor. For a chocolaty twist, add a little cocoa powder to the dough.
