- 2–3 lbs pork belly
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Score the skin of the pork belly and season it with salt and pepper.
- Mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger to create the caramelized sauce.
- Place the pork belly in a roasting dish, skin side up, and pour the sauce over it.
- Cover the dish with foil and roast for 2 hours.
- Remove the foil and continue roasting for another hour until the skin is crispy and caramelized.
- Let it rest for 15 minutes, then slice and serve garnished with green onions.
Notes
For deeper savory taste, add a splash of rice wine or fish sauce to the sauce. Ensure the skin is dry before roasting for extra crispiness.
