Description

A delicious twist on traditional hummus that combines creamy chickpeas with rich pumpkin flavor, perfect for snacks or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread for serving

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, pumpkin puree, tahini, garlic, cumin, olive oil, and lemon juice.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding water if necessary to achieve the desired consistency.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. For the toasted pita chips, cut pita bread into triangles and brush with olive oil.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  6. Serve the pumpkin hummus with the toasted pita chips.

Notes

Adjust seasonings to your taste. For a creamier hummus, add more tahini or olive oil. Top with paprika or toasted pumpkin seeds for extra flavor.
