Description
Make these crisp, warm churros coated in cinnamon sugar in no time at home.
Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups oil for frying
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
- Heat oil for frying in a deep skillet or pan over medium heat.
- Use a pastry bag fitted with a star tip to pipe out strips of dough into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove churros from oil and drain on paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon.
- Roll churros in the mixture while still warm.
- Serve hot with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche.
Notes
Store cooled churros in an airtight container for 1 day, or freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–8 minutes.
