- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 2–4 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the sourdough starter, shredded cheese, flour, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Mix until a dough forms, adding water as needed to bring everything together.
- Roll the dough out to about 1/8 inch thick on a floured surface.
- Cut into squares or desired shapes and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Let cool and enjoy your homemade Cheez-Its!
Notes
For extra crispness, roll the dough thin and ensure space between crackers on the baking sheet.
