Sticky Chicken Rice Bowls

A delicious and satisfying meal combining tender chicken with sweet and savory sauce, served over fluffy jasmine rice. Perfect for busy weeknights!

  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, and ginger to make the sauce.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through.
  3. Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and stir to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  4. Serve the sticky chicken over the cooked jasmine rice.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For extra veggies, toss in some bell peppers or snap peas while cooking the chicken. If you like it spicy, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
