Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • Pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Toast the slices of bread until golden brown.
  2. While the bread is toasting, boil or fry the egg to your liking.
  3. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash it with a fork.
  4. Season the mashed avocado with salt, pepper, and a splash of lemon juice if desired.
  5. Spread the mashed avocado evenly over the toasted bread.
  6. Top the avocado toast with the cooked egg.
  7. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with red pepper flakes if using.
