- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl, then gradually blend into the wet mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool on cookie sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For chewier cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week.
