Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 4 cups water
  • Ice
  • Optional: Your favorite spirit for cocktails

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup of fresh blueberries, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the blueberries burst and the syrup thickens.
  3. Strain the syrup through a fine sieve and let it cool.
  4. Mix the blueberry syrup with 1 cup of fresh lemon juice and 4 cups of water in a large pitcher. Stir well.
  5. Serve over ice and add your favorite spirit for an adult cocktail, if desired.

Notes

To make the sweetest drink, feel free to add more sugar during syrup preparation. For a fizzy twist, add a splash of sparkling water just before serving.
