Description

These buttery soft pretzel bites are warm, chewy, and perfect for sharing at parties or game nights.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl and let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add flour, melted butter, and salt to the mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  5. Roll the dough into ropes and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  6. Boil water in a large pot and add baking soda.
  7. Boil pretzel bites for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
